Terms of Service

The Points People is a card and points advisory. We build card sequencing, spend routing, and award research for clients, and we run a standalone flight research service for anyone who already holds the points and wants help finding an award seat.

The Points People is an independent advisory. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of any airline, hotel, or card issuer.

We are not a travel agency, and nothing we provide is financial, credit, investment, tax, or legal advice.

We never book on your behalf and never take control of your loyalty, card, or travel accounts. You keep every account, every application, and every booking. We give you the plan and the instructions; you execute them.

Current fees for flight research, including the search fee and the per-person cabin pricing, are stated on the flight research page rather than here, so there is one place they can be checked against what the form actually charges.

Flight research fees are earned on delivery of options meeting your stated parameters, not on booking. The fee is for the search and the analysis, not for a completed reservation.

The search fee is a flat $75. When we cannot find options meeting your stated parameters, the search fee is held as a credit toward a future search for 12 months rather than charged again.

If the audit doesn't identify at least $5,000 a year in travel value you're currently leaving on the table, the audit is free.

We're guaranteeing our analysis, not your travel plans. If there's nothing here for you, you shouldn't be paying us.

Award pricing, availability, transfer ratios, and card benefits are set by third-party airlines, hotel programs, and card issuers, and can change without notice. Nothing here is a guarantee of specific award availability or pricing.

We sometimes earn a commission or a referral bonus when you are approved for a card. Where a referral link is used, that is disclosed next to the link itself. It does not change what we recommend or what you pay, and where someone else can refer you for more than we would earn, we say so.

The plan we write for you is yours to keep and use. Our own templates, research methods, and internal tools remain ours, and nothing in an engagement transfers them to you.

Our services are for your own personal or business travel planning. Don't use them to resell award research or card strategy to third parties, and don't submit false information on an intake form to try to get a search or a fee waiver you would not otherwise qualify for.

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from an engagement is capped at the fees you paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for changes in award availability, pricing, transfer ratios, or card terms made by third parties after we deliver our work.

If these terms change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site or the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
