Card and points strategy for business owners

Your card spend is an unmanaged asset.

We build the card and spend-routing strategy that turns ordinary business expenses into business class. You keep control and book your own travel. We make sure you stop leaving five figures a year on the table.

The problem

The spend is already happening.

Most business owners doing $20k+ a month on cards are on one or two products chosen years ago, earning a flat rate on everything. The spend is identical either way. The difference is whether it's routed deliberately.

Done properly, that same spending funds two to three real trips over eighteen months. Premium cabins, hotels that would otherwise cost $800 a night. Done by default, it funds a modest statement credit.

You don't need to become a points person. You need someone who already is.

How it works

Three steps, and you keep every account.

The strategy is ours. The accounts, the applications, and the bookings stay yours.

01

Fit call, 20 minutes, free

Your spend, your entities, where you want to go. If this isn't worth your money, we'll tell you on the call.

02

The audit

A 90-minute working session and a written 18-month plan: which cards, in what order, which spend goes where, and two to three specific trips mapped to the month your balance supports them.

03

You execute, we stay reachable

Thirty days of email support, plus optional check-ins at month 6 and month 12 when the decisions actually come up.

Pricing

Fixed scope, fixed price.

Every engagement starts with the same free fit call. If it isn't worth your money, we'll say so.

The guarantee

If the audit doesn't identify at least $5,000 a year in travel value you're currently leaving on the table, the audit is free.

We're guaranteeing our analysis, not your travel plans. If there's nothing here for you, you shouldn't be paying us.

Founding rate

Why the founding rate

We're taking our first ten clients at roughly half price. In exchange we're asking for a testimonial, permission to publish your before-and-after numbers anonymously, and one introduction if you're happy with the work. That's a real trade, and it ends at ten clients.

What we do

Four pieces of work.

Each one is written down and handed over. Nothing lives only in a conversation.

01

Card sequencing

Which cards, in what order, across personal and business entities. Planned around eligibility windows and application velocity rules rather than guessed at.

  • 18-month roadmap, written down
  • A named alternate for every recommendation
  • Annual fee and retention decisions surfaced early
02

Spend routing

A map of which spend belongs on which card. The spend is happening either way; this is the part that decides what it earns.

  • Category-by-category routing
  • Business and personal entities handled separately
  • Revisited as your card mix changes
03

Trip mapping

Two to three specific trips, each tied to the month your balance actually supports it. Targets, not aspirations.

  • Premium cabin and hotel targets
  • Timed against your earning curve
  • Transfer partners identified in advance
04

Award research

Searching across programs and transfer partners for options that fit your stated parameters, with step-by-step booking instructions. You do the booking.

  • Flights and hotels, 2–3 options each
  • Written booking instructions
  • Available standalone. See Trip research

Our own travel

New Zealand, round trip, for 50,000 points.

Round trip to New Zealand in economy: 50,000 points and about a hundred dollars in taxes. The cash fare for those same seats was north of three thousand dollars.

That gap is the whole point. Points are worth real money when they're routed deliberately, and a fraction of it when they aren't. This is our own trip, not a client's, and the method is the same one the audit produces.

About

Someone who already is a points person.

The Points People is an independent card and points advisory. The work is card sequencing, spend routing, and award research, the unglamorous part, so the spend already moving through your business funds travel instead of a statement credit.

We don't sell cards, and the recommendation doesn't change based on what we earn. You pay us, so our only incentive is the strategy that's actually right for your spend.

FAQ

The questions we get asked most.

Do you book travel for me?

No. You book everything yourself using your own accounts. We give you the options and step-by-step instructions. This keeps your loyalty accounts in your control and out of anyone else's hands.

What if I don't get approved for a card you recommend?

Approvals depend on the issuer and we can't control them. Every card in your roadmap comes with a named alternate for exactly this reason.

What if there's no award space for my trip?

For standalone searches, if we can't find options meeting your stated parameters, everything but the search fee is refunded and the search fee becomes a credit toward a future search for 12 months.

What if the space disappears before I book?

Award availability is set by the airlines and can change without notice, sometimes within hours. That's why the ask is to be ready to book when results arrive. If something vanishes before you could reasonably act, reach out.

Do award prices change?

Yes. Award pricing and availability are set by third-party loyalty programs and can change without notice.

Do you earn commissions on the cards you recommend?

Sometimes, and we'll tell you which ones on the call. Where you have a spouse or business partner who can refer you instead, we'll point that out, because that bonus is worth more to you than the commission is to us. Either way the recommendation doesn't change.

Can I just buy an hour of your time?

Yes. Hourly advisory is $200 an hour for one-off questions. Most people are better served by the audit, which is a fixed scope and a written deliverable rather than an hour of conversation.
